Entries now open for 2020 Qualifying School
September 23rd, 2020 – In a year when nothing is going as expected, also our Qualifying School had to change both its venues and its dates. After eight editions in Spain, in fact, the tournament that decides who is going to have access to our Tour the following season and become the next rising golf stars is moving to Italy, and will be played one month earlier, in November.
While La Cala in Costa del Sol has been an ideal venue for staging our most important event for so succesful editions since 2012 – gathering more than 250 players at a time – the sanitary emergency and Covid-19 restrictions for some countries forced the Alps Tour Board of Directors to take a hard decision and find a new, appropriate venue in Rome, with three beautiful and demanding championship courses located in different areas of the Eternal City.
The First Stage is scheduled on November 11th and 12th over 36 holes on three courses and a maximum of 78 players per course: Golf Nazionale (Via Cassia, Km 44,500, Sutri), a Jim and George Fazio Design; Terre dei Consoli Golf Club (Via Terre dei Consoli 1, Monterosi), a Robert Trent Jones jr design; both venues are North of Rome; and Golf Club Parco de’ Medici (Via Salvatore Rebecchini 39, Roma), 15 km South of the Coliseum and 10 minutes from Fiumicino airport.
The Final Stage – with a total of 144 admitted players – will then take place on November 17-19 over 54 holes with two rounds alternated on Terre dei Consoli and Golf Nazionale, and the last round on Golf Nazionale.
The Top 35 will obtain a full category to play the 2021 Alps Tour events.
The entry deadline for both stages is October 22nd.
